Lyn is passionate about the early childhood period of a child's life and the philosophy and practices at Blossoms reflects this, with an emphasis on children forming strong warm relationships. The staff all know that when a child has a high level of well being there will be a corresponding high level of involvement in the program. Children deserve beauty and at Blossoms they are encouraged to engage with natural materials whenever possible. In the large outside area the children are supported to learn about the world around them, identifying our different bird life and abundant presence of insects. The children also are involved in planting and taking care of vegetables and flowers and often help the cook prepare some of our fresh produce for use in our daily meals. At Blossoms we believe that preparation for life is important and we start in our youngest age group helping children discover their own learning. Understanding cognitive development starts when children are born and the relationship between stimulation and neuron formation is very important. All staff have early childhood qualifications with two university trained teachers overseeing the program. We also value parent input and our secure passworded online system provides parents with regular updates of their child's progress and also allows parents to contact the educators with information about the learning that is happening at home. Our hours suit most working parents with an opening time of 7.00 a.m. and closing at 6.00 p.m. Days can be usually arranged to suit parents' needs with casual days available if needed for those that often need time for appointments or extra days at work. We have staff who have had lots of experience in settling children and for those parents who may be having difficulties with sleep and or eating routines we can often provide some reassurance. A good child care service is sometimes likes an extended family, we can help you return to either work or study or just provide the time out that can often help you be the parent that you like to be. Blossoms Children Services is an accredited long day care service that has an ongoing commitment to quality improvement. Our ratios are above the regulations with all children between the age of 0 and 3 having access to a 1:4 adult child ratio. In our older room a flexible inside/outside program means that individual and small group discussion times provide very individualised learning. Parents are eligible for fee relief with both income assessed reductions and also rebates for working and/or studying parents. Our fees are competitive within the local area and include all meals during the day. Our menu is seasonally changed and our qualified cook ensures that our meals meet the 75% requirements of each child's nutritional requirements for the day. Menus are adapted for diagnosed allergies and also for our babies. Blossoms welcomes visitors and time can be spent with your child at the service before you enrol.
